A probe is not a probe unless the outcome is favorable to the Congress. Such was the case in the famous Mangalore pub attack. Congress is unhappy and dissatisfied when minorities are blamed by probes – be it SIMI, Afzal Guru or Abdul Nasser Madani. They are excited if the possibility of Hindus as terrorist is raised as is the Malegaon blast case. Off course nothing excites them as much as the possibilitiy of cornering Narendra Modi for the Gujarat riot.
Lucknow, Jul 26 : The Congress is likely to ask for another round of probe by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) after the aggrieved parties blamed that their views were not taken during investigation.
”I have been conveyed that the NHRC probe did not take the views of the aggrieved family members, which is a very serious matter”, said Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh here today.
Talking to reporters here, he said the party was not satisfied with the NHRC probe and would certainly take up the issue with concerned people and there was possibility that the probe could be re-done.
Recently, the NHRC probe vindicated the encounter by the Delhi Police in the Batala House area where the family members of the deceased blamed that it was a clear cut murder.
In another issue, Mr Singh appealed to all the secular parties to continue their support to the UPA government to prevent the communal forces from gaining any ground.
His appeal was on the reaction to the threat of the Samajwadi Party to withdraw their support from the Centre.
The Congress leader strongly refuted the charges that the party was going slow against the BSP government or he was closely attached to Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh.
”We never believe in match fixing,” was the only comments he made on these charges.
